“The Spider” to go back to 205 after Cote clash, fight with GSP also rumoured
Never long out of the headlines, UFC middleweight champion, Anderson “The Spider” Silva, was in Chicago today to help promote his upcoming fight on October 25th against Canadian Patrick Cote. President, Dana White, had some interesting comments to make about “The Spider’s” future.
During the press conference this afternoon in “The Windy City”, White strongly suggested that a move back to the light heavyweight division would happen should he be successful in defending his 185 pound crown, adding fuel to the rumour of a December clash with Chuck Liddell.
Also mentioned was a possible fight down the road against UFC welterweight champion, George’s St. Pierre, at a catch weight (possibly 180 pounds) which would have fans reaching for their wallets.
These are certainly exciting times for the middleweight champion, who has publicly stated that he wishes to be involved in the biggest matches in the coming years. With what is rumoured, he’s making a good start.
