Paulo Filho says Sonnen will pay dearly tonight

WEC middleweight champion, Paulo Filho, has warned opponent Chael Sonnen that he “will pay dearly” tonight at WEC 36 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.

Speaking to Tatame.com, Filho warned:

“I’m not feeling bad, I’ve already recovered my weight and I’m ready. That guy (Sonnen) will pay dearly my 25% (purse) inside that octagon on those three rounds: 10% on the first, 10% on the second and the rest at the third.”

Filho was fined 25% of his purse by way of compensation for failing to make the 185 pound weight limit. Rumour has it that if he does lose, although the fight is no longer officially for the title, Filho will present the belt to Sonnen.
