Dan Hardy brushes off the recent AIDS comments made by Marcus Davis
UFC welterweight number one contender, Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy has once again been asked about the recent disgraceful comments made towards him by former nemesis, Marcus Davis, explaining he doesn’t take a lot of notice of what’s being said.
Speaking via the SiriusXM Fight Club, Hardy said:
“I don't really pay a lot of attention to it. You know, that's history now. I fought the guy and I beat the guy, and apparently, I'm still beating him up every day he wakes up and thinks about the fight. So the sooner he gets over the fight and accepts the loss, the better it's going to be for his career because I think he also put his last loss to Ben Saunders down to the fact that I was standing cageside.”
“He needs to get his head together and see things for what they really are. It was trash talk and he got trash talked and he lost the fight. It's unfortunate for him, but that's the way it goes.”Hardy was also asked about the time he’s spending training alongside the last man to defeat Georges St. Pierre, Matt “The Terror” Serra.
“I didn't actually know how I was going to be received by Matt, but he's been very, very welcoming and he's just a great guy. The sport needs more people like him.”
“I think it's because he's been in my shoes before. He was a huge underdog and the world was against him, and I just think he kind of saw me and thought, This kid could do it with a little bit of help, and he offered it to me. He's a great guy. I am going to come back and train with him after this fight. There's a lot to learn from that guy, definitely.”Hardy will get his chance to claim glory for himself when he squares off with Georges St. Pierre for the welterweight title on March 27th in Newark, New Jersey. Stay tuned to MMABay for more of the build up to this one.
