Bart Palaszewski no longer as one dimensional inside the WEC cage

WEC lightweight, Bart Palaszewski has turned around his one promising MMA career after a string of bad results back in 2009 threatened to cut it short, something he credits to his team of trainers.

Speaking to MMAWeekly.com, Palaszewski said:

“Karen is a tough dude and stuff, but I’m really happy with the way I won; I guess it shows I’m not one-dimensional. That’s one of the big things that I’ve really been struggling with. I’ve been so one-dimensional the last few years, trying to prove to everybody that I’m a better stand-up guy – which I am for the most case – but there’s a lot more to my game than my stand-up.”

“I got clipped with a couple of punches and got taken down, but I stayed aggressive on my back and had an aggressive guard. My corner said I should start moving around and try to get him in a submission, and I started going for it and thought I could catch him with something. There were a couple of close ones, and finally towards the end I finally caught one.”

“I’m not thinking too far ahead to tell you the truth. I know the WEC is going to give us options and my coaches and management will run it by me and we’ll go from there. I’m not even thinking about my next opponent or who I want to fight. Obviously the goal is to get the belt, but I’m just keeping that out of my mind, I don’t want to get that far ahead of myself.”

Palaszewski is now on a handy three fight winning streak with the promotion including a split decision win over knockout artist, Anthony Pettis back in December. Can he continue his impressive run and work his way into title contention?
