WEC 48 - Anthony Pettis back in action against Alex Karalexis in April
Anthony Pettis, fresh off his WEC 47 “Knockout of the Night” victory over Danny Castillo, will be quickly heading back to the cage this April to take on “Ultimate Fighter” original, Alex Karalexis on the preliminary portion of WEC 48.
Sources close to the fight revealed the news to MMAJunkie.com, saying verbal agreements are in place on both sides and bout agreements are set to be issued shortly.
The win for Pettis over Castillo was an important one after suffering his first career defeat to Bart Palaszewski at WEC 45 in December. Prior to that he had defeated Mike Campbell at WEC 41 on his promotional debut.
It will be over a year since Karalexis was last seen in action, defeating Greg McIntyre via first round TKO. Prior to that he had lost back-to-back fights Ed Ratcliff and coincidentally, Bart Palaszewski.
