Roop happy with performance over Garcia, still room for improvement

WEC featherweight, George Roop has given his thoughts on the “Fight of the Night” he had with Leonard Garcia this past weekend in Columbus, Ohio, saying he’s happy with his performance but there’s still a lot of work to be done.

Speaking via FightHype.com, Roop said:

I didn't get to finish him and everyone wants to finish their opponent. But realistically, everybody is so technically sound, especially in the featherweight division. There is a bunch of serial killers out there and it's hard to finish someone like Leonard Garcia, who has a solid chin, but I wanted to be in better shape. I seen a lot of stuff I need to improve on in the video, but I was happy that I was able to go in there and implement a good gameplan and put on a great fight for everyone to watch.”

The pair battled to a draw this time around and will likely be thrown into the cage against each other next time around to settle the score once and for all. Stay tuned to MMABay in the coming weeks for more on this one.
