Soszynski expected result to stand, thinks a rematch will go his way too
UFC light heavyweight, Krzysztof Soszynski has been speaking about the news today that the result from the fight between him and Stephan Bonnar from last month’s event in Australia will stand despite the controversial way it ended.
Speaking via MMAJunkie.com, Soszynski said:
“The most disappointing part to me is that we didn't get to finish what we started. It was turning out to be a really exciting, back-and-forth battle. I did really think I was on my way to a victory – a close victory, but a victory nonetheless.”
“To have a fight stopped on a clash of heads like that – yeah, there was a lot of blood pouring, but I kind of wish they would have let it go because I've seen a lot worse cuts that were let go before in the past. As far as the decision not to overturn it, there's not much I can say about that. I kind of figured that it wouldn't be changed. It is what it is. It happens. It's part of the sport. We're just going to have to move on and deal with it. Hopefully we get another chance to fight each other, and then we'll find out who the better man is.”On talk of a rematch, “The Polish Experiment” said:
“It is basically whatever the UFC wants to do. If there's enough people out there talking about the rematch right away, and people wanting to see that fight, then I think we should do it right away. If it's something that the UFC wants, then let's do it. If they want to push it until later on, I'm fine with that, too."
“I had a great training camp for this fight, and I think if I have to fight Stephan Bonnar again coming up very soon, then I'll have another great training camp. I don't think there will be much difference in the fight. What happened in the first fight won't be any different then what would happen in the next fight.”
“I prepared so well for this fight. We had a great gameplan going into this fight, and I've always wanted to be in an all-out war like that, a back-and-forth battle where there's a lot of blood and two guys basically beating the crap out of each other for the full 15 minutes with both guys having great gas tanks. [The ending] did take a little away from my win.”The pair are expected to collide once again in June at the season eleven finale of “The Ultimate Fighter”. Will we get a clean finish to this one and answer the question, who is the better man? Stay tuned to MMABay for more on this one as we get it.
