“Kimbo” vs. Mitrione official for May, Couture vs. Toney gathers speed
The heavyweight clash between “Ultimate Fighter” season ten cast members, Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson and Matt Mitrione has finally been made official for UFC 113 putting to bed rumours that the former street fighter was set to take on heavyweight boxing champion, James “Light’s Out” Toney.
The fight between the two men completes a stacked televised card for May 8th in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, headlined by the light heavyweight title rematch between Lyoto Machida and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
Both men made successful octagon debits on the same night back in December, with “Kimbo” edging out light heavyweight veteran, Houston Alexander via unanimous decision, while Mitrione knocked out popular former NFL player, Marcus Jones in the second round for an early night.
This still leaves the question of who will be taking on James Toney in his UFC debut? The answer seems to be Randy “The Natural” Couture, who revealed to MMABay this past week that UFC President, Dana White was keen on seeing that fight happen in the next few months. Stay tuned to MMABay for more on this one as we get it.
