Cung Le returns to training, targets future rematch with Scott Smith

Former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Cung Le has revealed that he’s returned to training ahead of a return to the cage and that he wants a rematch wit the only man to defeat him, heavy handed Scott Smith.

Speaking via a video posted yesterday, Le revealed that an announcement on his return could be made during the April 17th broadcast on CBS, before adding:

“I’m hoping to get a rematch with Scott Smith ASAP. I've been training hard. Since my last fight didn't work out the way I wanted it to, but I've been training hard to make sure there's a different outcome next time around.”

“I'm going to save my news until we have something announced. Maybe we'll announce it April 17 at that fight. So right now, I"m training hard, and I'll be back in the cage real soon.”

Le had dominated most of the fight against Smith, dropping him repeatedly to the canvas with spinning back kicks. However, in the dying minutes of the final round the Vietnamese fighter walked onto a heavy punch from Smith which he was never able to recover from, losing the fight via TKO.
