Mike “Quick” Swick undergoes surgery to put right “pretty bad” elbow

UFC welterweight, Mike “Quick” Swick has undergone surgery on his elbow as expected this week to put right damage sustained during his UFC 109 loss to Paulo Thiago at UFC 109 last month, with the extent of the damage being more severe than first feared.

Swick posted via his Twitter page that doctors had detected bone spurs and fragments, inflammation and possible nerve damage. He added that it would will need it scoped and possibly have a nerve re-routed.

Swick is currently serving a medical suspension issued by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for the injury and must be cleared by an orthopedist before returning to action in August at the earliest.
