“Shogun” Rua celebrates Wanderlei win, backs Silva to defeat Maia
UFC light heavyweight number one contender, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua has commented on former Chute Boxe team mate, Wanderlei Silva and his recent win at UFC 110, as well as picking Anderson Silva to triumph over submission wizard, Demian Maia at UFC 112.
Speaking via Tatame Magazine, Rua said about Wanderlei:
“He has a lot of heart and will, he can do great in this division, it’ll only depend on him.”
On the middleweight title showdown between Silva and Maia, Rua said:
“It’s gonna be a tough fight, both are top athletes. I’ll be watching this fight for sure, but I think Anderson has vantages due to his experience, he’s the champion.”
Rua will be back in action himself one month later when he takes on 205 pound champion, Lyoto Machida in a rematch of their razor close fight from last October at UFC 104.
