Scott Jorgensen puts himself forward for the first shot at Cruz’ title
WEC bantamweight contender, Scott Jorgensen has thrown his name into the hat for the first shot at Dominick Cruz’ newly acquired title following his own success at the weekend, his third win in as many fights.
Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Jorgensen said:
“Yeah, I'm ready for a title shot. I was ready for a title shot after the last fight, but I'll keep fighting, I'll keep winning. It's kind of a game of who we can hype up and who we can build, and that's fine with me. I just want to fight, and I just want to keep doing what I'm doing.”
A number of sources close to the promotion have confirmed that not only Joseph Benavidez and Scott Jorgensen are in line for a shot at the title but the upcoming fight between Damacio Page and Antonio Banuelos could also have title implications. Stay tuned to MMABay in the coming weeks to see how this one pans out.
