UFN 21 - Florian disagrees with Gomi’s first round knockout prediction
UFC lightweight contender, Kenny Florian has disagreed with his UFC Fight Night 21 opponent, Takanori Gomi that he’s going to get knocked out in the first round, saying the Japanese star will find out very quickly that it won’t be that easy.
Speaking via BloodyElbow.com, Florian said:
“I think he will find out very quickly that that’s going to be a very difficult thing to do. I didn’t get to where I am by getting beat in the first round and I’m looking forward to seeing if that’s going to come true. Gomi is a tough guy. He was the best in the world for a long time.”
Florian got back on track following his fourth round loss to B.J. Penn in the summer with an impressive second round submission win over the ever energetic, Clay Guida at UFC 107 in December.
Joe Lauzon believes he rushed his return to the Octagon from a knee injury and it cost him in his last fight. The East Bridgewater native has no plans to repeat his mistake.
