UFC 98 - Ricardo Arona warns Machida about standing with Evans
Former PRIDE FC light heavyweight veteran, Ricardo Arona has warned fellow Brazilian, Lyoto Machida about standing with Rashad Evans at UFC 98 next weekend and that he thinks the fight will be decided on the ground.
Speaking to GracieMag.com, Arona said:
“Rashad Evans is dangerous with his hands, good at boxing. He’s coming off a win too, which is important. But I think the best way for Lyoto is to keep his distance, the way he does. I think he has a good chance of taking this belt.”
“I want to say the most dangerous place against Rashad is standing, but Lyoto is also really secure in this fundamental. If he keeps his distance, like he does, he’ll do well, but I think this fight will play out on the ground.”
Arona went on to reveal that he has received offers from both Affliction and DREAM about a return to action. He explained that a September bout would be perfect for him and he is excited about finally getting back inside the ring.
