MMA’s Top Podcasted show, Fight_Net Radio is now MMABay Radio!!!

After four years of broadcasting what was deemed “the most controversial” show on the subject of boxing and Mixed Martial Arts and compared often to Howard Stern, Lee Honish and Chris Greenman have partnered with MMABay.co.uk, the top rated European MMA website, to draw a wider audience and make presence in the Growing European MMA market.

Lee Honish, creator and host: “It’s what I’m into right now, timing is perfect I just lost one of my long standing co-hosts who I thought could not be replaced, luckily we did land a great replacement and it makes sense to continue our path and take it to the next level. The show has made many of the major players in boxing and MMA flinch - some top MMA news sites who only seem to report on the major MMA organization, and some high profile fighters, simply because we deliver a show that is not only professionally informative and non-bias, but will talk about these powerful figures in a unbiased fashion and identify obvious issues. I’m proud that I haven’t waivered and maybe it was ‘shocking’… but it worked, numbers and fans don’t lie! Now Chris Greenman and I are forming a coalition of unbiased media sources and it starts with MMABay.co.uk. MMABay Radio rings in 2010 with a new direction and something to keep me excited about doing this show.”

Chris Greenman, co-host and CEO of www.ProFightNetwork.com: “With the growth and merger of PFN and FNR, Lee was hunting for a name change with possibly a shirt company, and the goal in mind is to become a major player in this industry. We do great shows and they are very honest and very real. MMABay.co.uk shares that perspective as one of Europe’s top MMA websites. The bias in MMA is out of control and the fighters are the ones getting the short end of the deal. We are going to continue to be us and cultivate an already large audience of 4 million registered listeners, we want to double the number this year worldwide, and this partnership will allow it. I find it funny when I personally can only recognize HD Net’s Inside MMA as the only American news source that truly does its best to report about the entire MMA community around the world, finding MMABay was very refreshing. The MMA community is still small enough where its about relationships and loyalty, I wouldn’t make this choice with MMABay unless I felt confident in both”

Michael Pepper, CEO and new anchor: “Personally I was honored when both Lee and Chris approached me about rebranding their already popular show as MMABay Radio. During my spare time, which isn't much these days, I've become an avid listener of the show and, although controversial at times, it has continued to report everything good and bad about the sport of MMA, in and out of the UFC. With massive fan bases being built all over the world for the likes of Strikeforce, DREAM and Sengoku it’s great to be able to give a well balanced view of MMA on a day to day basis. MMABay.co.uk currently pulls in over 100,000 unique viewers on a month to month basis and is still growing and I hope this move will add a substantial audience to the radio show over the next twelve months.”

Fight_Net Radio isn’t dead by any stretch of the imagination; it was just in need of a new name, it’s currently being shopped on new terrestrial markets as well as Sirius/XM and will return with boxing and MMA in the coming weeks with simply a new name. For now, www.profightnetwork.com & www.mmabay.co.uk seem content on unleashing this new brand with a vengeance on a new audience. Michael Pepper, CEO of mmabay.co.uk, will be added to the team to complete the weekly broadcasts.

Lee Honish - “Fight_Net Radio is a 4 to 5 hour extravaganza that pushes us to make it fun and make boxing and MMA news entertaining and compelling. We are not going to stop doing Fight_Net Radio and start some sort of new format and content, we just needed a small break to recharge and regroup. We are gearing up for a major syndication package and that could mean all day Sunday or a Monday through Friday daily slot. Either way, we need a small breather before we start that marathon. MMABay Radio allows us to have some fun; it will still have the same show elements and new ones, and as always… have plenty of ‘boom’.”

Head over to flpoindexter.podomatic.com, which will soon be rebranded with the MMABay logo, to check the show. We will also be supplying a player on MMABay.co.uk in the coming days.
