Hi Paul,

Thank you for taking the time to sit down with MMABay and answer a few of our questions:

MMABay - Firstly, congratulations on your recent ‘KO of the Night’ victory at UFC 108. How happy are you with your performance and were you surprised that Dustin didn’t try to get the fight to the floor early on?  

Daley - I am very pleased with my performance, I was surprised Dustin did not immediately take it to the ground or clinch.

MMABay - A lot of people, especially in the States, were predicting that Dustin would give you fits on the ground; did you have a plan B in case he managed to get the takedown, or was it always a case of not giving him that opportunity?

Daley - Yes there is always a plan B, but the first rule of plan A is not to go to Plan B.

MMABay - You mixed your training up a little for this one, spending a lot of time in the Muay Thai mecca that is Holland. How much of your performance do you put down to your trip to The Netherlands, and is that something you plan on doing again for future fights?

Daley - I have been going to Holland to train for 4 years now, this is nothing new. I do this for every fight.

MMABay - You spent some time training with Melvin Manhoef, another powerful striker about to make his US debut. How do you rate Melvin’s chances against Robbie Lawler later this month?

Daley - He will crush Robbie. Gonna be a great debut for him at Strikeforce.

MMABay - The word on your next fight is that you’ll be facing off with AKA standout Josh Koscheck. It’s early days yet, but how confident are you about how well you’ll match up with Kos?

Daley - I will knockout Koscheck, but it’s gonna be a very tough fight.

MMABay - You’re both known for being able to give a little bit of banter in the build up to a fight In our mind’s you’re already way ahead with the Fraggle Rock comment, which has been picked up by fans on various message boards online. How important is it to be able to engage fans with a bit of trash talk, and does it motivate you more to know that you’ve got under a guy’s skin?

Daley - I don’t do it intentionally I just say what’s on my mind, I know the fans love it, because I am “real” you know, no bullshit, I say what I think, to anyone! 

MMABay - Your team mate Dan Hardy is going to be the first UK fighter to receive a UFC title shot in just a few months time. It’s way too early to ask if you’d fight Dan for the title if it came down to it, but what are your views on teammates fighting in general?   

Daley - I have a strong feeling that Dan is gonna win the UFC crown.

MMABay - Finally, looking to the future, what does 2010 have in store for fans of ‘Semtex’?

Daley - More wins, more knockout’s.
