Hi Ed,

Thank you for taking the time to sit down with MMABay and answer a few of our questions:

MMABay - First of all you’re fighting Donald Cerrone in your next outing, he’s got excellent stand up and dangerous ground skills, how do you plan to approach the fight?

Ratcliff - I plan on approaching this fight the same as I do every other fight.  Impose myself on him and fight as smart as possible.

MMABay - Do you feel that Donald will be more dangerous coming off a loss?  

Ratcliff - I don’t think he is going to be anymore dangerous because of his loss.  He is naturally dangerous so him losing won’t matter too much.  He just needs to prepare for yet another loss.

MMABay - Should you get past Donald, do you feel like a title shot is next for you?  

Ratcliff - WHEN I beat Cerrone I will worry about the next move.  I am not looking past this fight coming up on the 19th.

MMABay - You’ve been with the WEC for a number of years now, do you think that the fight with Cerrone will vault you from one of the lesser known fighters into the public eye, somewhat like Benson Henderson?  

Ratcliff - I believe that after this fight 9mm will be a household name.  Our styles will make an exciting fight so the fans will take more notice for sure.

MMABay - How do you think Benson Henderson will fair up against current lightweight champ Jamie Varner?

Ratcliff - Ben is a smart fighter with very good wrestling but so is Varner.  I think Varner may have an advantage with his boxing.  It should be pretty interesting.

MMABay - Being that you’ve been with the WEC for a while now, are you pleased at the level the WEC has reached, being that fans all over the world are clambering to see an event take place on their home soil?  

Ratcliff - WEC has done a tremendous job developing their brand and everywhere I go I speak to fans and they tell me how much better they like WEC vs some of the other organizations because of the excitement level of the fights.  WEC has some of the most exciting fights on TV. Needless to say, I am very pleased.

MMABay - Finally do you have any sponsors you’d like to thank?
