MMABay sat down last week with “Ultimate Fighter” season 9 welterweight winner, James “Lightning” Wilks. We asked him about his time spent in the house, his rivalry with American DeMarques Johnson and what lies ahead for him in the future.

Quotes from the interview:

We asked him whether he was aware that DeMarques Johnson had a problem with him going into the finale.

“Yeah I was definitely aware of it going into the fight. I haven’t spoken to him too much about it. On the last day in the house I knew he had a problem but he wrote on the team t-shirt that I had all the American’s write on the t-shirt, he said ‘I know we’ve had our problems but we can go out for a drink anytime’. I think some of its down to him being scared a little bit of the competition and he felt he had to build up that anger in order to fight me.”

When asked whether he would like to make his official UFC debut on one of the two UK cards rumoured for the end of the year, James told us:

“Yeah it would definitely be nice to have a fight in the UK as long as I can come over in time and get over the jet lag first. I’ll fight wherever the UFC puts me.”
