Joey Beltran blames unnamed supplement for positive drug test

January 11, 2013 All MMA News, UFC  Comments

UFC light heavyweight fan favourite, Joey Beltran has today made a statement about the positive drug test he recorded following his UFC on FX 6 clash with Igor Pokrajac last month in Broadbeach, Australia, explaining it must have been an unnamed supplement to blame for what happened.

Speaking via his Twitter page, Beltran said:

“I can say without a shadow of a doubt I did not inject Nandrolone into my body. I am sorry to my family and friends for the shame this brought to any of you. I promise soon the whole story will be told and I will go through whatever is necessary to find the reason for this positive test.

“I am at fault for taking a supplement or perhaps combination of something that caused my test result. My team and I will seek the truth. I am sorry once again and truly apologize to the people that matter the most to me.”

Beltran was not the only man to test positive as middleweight submission machine, Rousimar Palhares recorded elevated testosterone levels. Palhares was defeated by former Bellator middleweight champion, Hector Lombard on the card, while Beltran picked up an impressive three-round decision win over Igor Pokrajac. Palhares’ result will naturally stand whereas Beltran’s will now revert to a no-contest.

Buying Supplements for MMA Training and Hardcore Workouts
Many people ask what type of supplements they should use for MMA training and hardcore workouts. With each person and training program the supplements will vary.  Anyone exerting enormous amounts of energy with their training needs to have a proper diet, lots of rest and quality supplementation. Some of the supplement staples for MMA and hardcore workouts will include Creatine, Whey Protein, BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids), L Carnitine, Beta Alanine and Glutamine.  You may also need extra pre-workout energy and strength with Ephedrine/Ephedra and Prohormones.  As well you will need to replenish nutrients with Multivitamins, Super Greens, Fish Oil and Joint Support Supplements. Make sure to research what the requirements are for your specific training program, and do as much research as possible on each supplement you are taking. Buy supplements at a trusted source - one company we recommend for quality products and service is CenturySupplements.com.  They have quick delivery to the UK and a wide selection.
