UFC 151 – Josh Koscheck forced out of Jake Ellenberger showdown with bulging disc
Former UFC welterweight title contender, Josh Koscheck has been forced to withdraw from his UFC 151 clash with heavy hitter, Jake Ellenberger set for September 1st in Las Vegas, Nevada, after suffering a bulging disc in his back.
The news was reported on FUEL TV’s UFC Tonight just a few hours ago. UFC officials are now scrambling to find a replacement opponent for Ellenberger to face.
Koscheck has come close to winning the title on more than one occasion with wins over the likes of Matt Hughes, Paul “Semtex” Daley and Diego Sanchez. He recently lost a close decision to Johny Hendricks sliding him back down the pecking order.
Ellenberger is in a similar position after defeating the likes of former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Jake Shields. That run came to an end however when he lost to Martin Kampmann via second round TKO earlier this year.
