Alistair Overeem still claiming Junior dos Santos is afraid to fight him

August 8, 2012 All MMA News, UFC  Comments

Former Strikeforce, DREAM and K-1 champion, Alistair Overeem has been speaking about the possibility of facing Junior dos Santos next after the Brazilian called for the Las Vegas based promotion to match them up around the turn of the year, and despite these revelations it seems “The Reem” still feels his foe is afraid.

Speaking via UFC Tonight on FUEL TV, Overeem said:

“I think he’s afraid to fight me. He was happy that the last fight on May 26th didn’t happen against us. I approached him at the UFC Fighter Summit in Vegas and said, let’s do it. Let’s prove something to the world and lets fight. Then he suddenly acted like he didn’t understand English and how he wants to fight Cain first. The fact of the matter is I’m the number one heavyweight in the world and if he wants to be the number one heavyweight, he has to come through me.”

“First he wants to fight Cain and now me. Talk all you want. Come into the Octagon. I will immediately say yes. Give me and the fans what they want. But he’s expecting that fight not to happen. I would welcome that fight and want it to happen. I would say yes every time to that fight. Junior, give me and the fans and the UFC what they want. You’ve already fought Cain. That would just be another win. But a win over me would give you the number one spot. Without a win over me, they’ll always question your championship. So bring it to the table my friend.”

The heavy handed Brazilian looked to face former champion, Cain Velasquez next in a rematch of their November 2011 clash on FOX which saw “Cigano” walk away with a first round TKO win on the night. Will he get his wish of a fight with Overeem next? Tell us what you think…

Buying Supplements for MMA Training and Hardcore Workouts
Many people ask what type of supplements they should use for MMA training and hardcore workouts. With each person and training program the supplements will vary.  Anyone exerting enormous amounts of energy with their training needs to have a proper diet, lots of rest and quality supplementation. Some of the supplement staples for MMA and hardcore workouts will include Creatine, Whey Protein, BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids), L Carnitine, Beta Alanine and Glutamine.  You may also need extra pre-workout energy and strength with Ephedrine/Ephedra and Prohormones.  As well you will need to replenish nutrients with Multivitamins, Super Greens, Fish Oil and Joint Support Supplements. Make sure to research what the requirements are for your specific training program, and do as much research as possible on each supplement you are taking. Buy supplements at a trusted source - one company we recommend for quality products and service is CenturySupplements.com.  They have quick delivery to the UK and a wide selection.
