August 4, 2012 All MMA News, UFC  Comments

UFC welterweight veteran, Mike Swick made a triumphant return to action inside the octagon tonight on the UFC on FOX 4 card in Los Angeles, California, defeating DaMarques Johnson via TKO in the second round but he certainly didn’t have it all his own way.

Swick over the top with the right hand. Big right hand from Swick lands which wobbles Johnson. Another right lands from Swick but this time Johnson takes it and keeps moving forward. Johnson looks to land a combination. Johnson with a right hand as Swick moves in. Swick with a knee from the clinch but Johnson forces him to the ground. Johnson looks to land ground and pound from the guard. Swick gets back up and the two men exchange wildly, both men landing over and over. Johnson ties Swick up on the fence and trips his opponent to the ground. Johnson mounts and drops punches from above. Swick hangs in there. Johnson looks for the D’Arce and locks it up. He lets go and looks to strike. Johnson looks for the choke again but Swick escapes. Johnson keeps the pressure on from the guard. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Johnson.

Both men land right hands to begin but it’s Johnson looking the more confident right now. Swick catches a kick and dumps Johnson to his back. Swift ground and pound from Swick turns out Johnson’s lights.
