Jon Jones avoids jail time, picks up a $1,000 fine and six month suspended licence for DUI
As expected, UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones has avoided jail time following his May 19th arrest for driving under the influence, but did pick up a $1,000 fine and a six-month license suspension.
On top of that the man dubbed “Bones” will have ignition interlocks installed on his vehicles, and he needs to complete a victim-impact panel. Soon after the sentencing was handed out Jones tweeted:
“Blessed to still have the full support of Broom County/all my fans and my DWI case officially behind me.”
Followed by:
“Moving forward.”
The 24-year-old champ crashed his 2012 Bentley into a utility pole in the early morning hours of May 19th. He was unscathed, but two female passengers suffered minor injuries and were treated at a local hospital. Stay tuned to MMABay for more reaction to this situation as we get it.
