Dana White reveals Alexander Gustafsson is in line for a big fight next
UFC President, Dana White has today revealed that light heavyweight contender, Alexander Gustafsson is being lined up for a big fight the next time he takes to the octagon, although there is no clue as to when and where we’ll see him in action next.
Speaking via MMAJunkie.com, Gustafsson said:
“He’s ready for a big fight now too. (We’ll) get him lined up with one of the top guys soon, and we’ll fight out where he sits and where he fits.”
Gustafsson was recently asked about his future, including whether or not he’d jump at the chance to fight for the title next.
“Yeah, absolutely. I wouldn’t say no to that. That’s what I train for: a shot at the title. That’s why I do this. I want to win a belt. (But I have) no idea what the UFC will do. I take it one fight at a time, and I don’t what the UFC has planned for me. I don’t know what the plans look like.”
Gustafsson has been on a roll of late, winning his last five bouts inside the octagon including first round victories over James Te Huna and Vladimir Matyushenko and a unanimous decision win over Brazilian battler, Thiago Silva. Stay tuned to MMABay for more news on this situation as we get it.
