UFC on FOX 4 – Matt Mitrione vs. Rob Broughton scratched from August 4th card in Los Angeles, California
The heavyweight clash between Matt Mitrione and Rob Broughton which was expected to happen on the UFC on FOX 4 card set for August 4th in Los Angeles, California has today been scratched as the Brit deals with personal problems.
The matchup, which UFC officials first announced in May, was pulled so that Broughton can deal with a few personal matters. MMAJunkie.com today confirmed the change, though UFC executives weren’t immediately available for comment, and it’s currently unknown if the promotion will have time to secure a replacement opponent.
Mitrione opened his MMA and UFC career with five straight wins inside the octagon, including a second round knockout of Christian Morecraft. He was derailed last time out however when French stand-up artist, Cheick Kongo beat him via unanimous decision.
Broughton is a man on the edge heading into this one after losing his last two fights inside the octagon to Travis Browne and Phil De Fries. His sole win with the Las Vegas based promotion came at UFC 120 against Vinicius Queiroz.
