UFC 151 – Jon Jones says “disrespectful” Dan Henderson has given him added motivation
Just when you thought they were going to play nicely the rule book is thrown out of the window. UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones has today revealed he feels disrespected by the pre-fight comments made by his UFC 151 opponent, Dan Henderson, ahead of their September 1st clash in Las Vegas, Nevada, adding it’s only intensified his motivation for his latest title defence.
Posting via his Twitter, Jones said:
No clue why Dan Henderson decided to be so disrespectful to me leading up to this fight, but it is what it is. I could use the motivation
The dudes done so much for the sport, I’m not even trying to come at him like that. I did enough trash talking with Page&Evans
FYI Henderson’s mouth isn’t bothering me at all, I just figured with all his experience he’d be over stuff like that
Jones has practically cleared out the 205 pound ranks over the past year with wins over Ryan Bader, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Lyoto Machida and now Rashad Evans. All that’s left in his way are bouts with Dan Henderson and possibly Alexander Gustafsson. Stay tuned to MMABay for more build-up to this one as we get it.
