Chan Sung Jung to undergo shoulder surgery next week

July 13, 2012 All MMA News, UFC  Comments

UFC featherweight contender, Chan Sung Jung (aka “The Korean Zombie”) won’t be appearing on the UFC on FUEL TV 6 card in Macau, China later this year after it was revealed he’ll be undergoing surgery on his shoulder in the week.

The news comes via MMAFighting.com who spoke to a source close to the fighter. He could have fought on through the pain but he decided to opt for surgery to correct the problem that has been plaguing him for quite some time.

Jung’s doctors had advised him to have the surgery before his win over Dustin Poirier in May, but the Korean fighter decided against pulling out of the fight. Jung has won his last three fights in a row. He called out UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo via Twitter two weeks, but those title plans have now been put on ice for the time being. No timetable has been set for his return.

Buying Supplements for MMA Training and Hardcore Workouts
Many people ask what type of supplements they should use for MMA training and hardcore workouts. With each person and training program the supplements will vary.  Anyone exerting enormous amounts of energy with their training needs to have a proper diet, lots of rest and quality supplementation. Some of the supplement staples for MMA and hardcore workouts will include Creatine, Whey Protein, BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids), L Carnitine, Beta Alanine and Glutamine.  You may also need extra pre-workout energy and strength with Ephedrine/Ephedra and Prohormones.  As well you will need to replenish nutrients with Multivitamins, Super Greens, Fish Oil and Joint Support Supplements. Make sure to research what the requirements are for your specific training program, and do as much research as possible on each supplement you are taking.
