UFC on FUEL TV 4 – Rafael dos Anjos proves he’s a well-rounded mixed martial artist with unanimous decision win
UFC lightweight prospect, Rafael dos Anjos celebrated his tenth fight inside the octagon tonight with an impressive unanimous decision win over Anthony Njokuani on the UFC on FUEL TV 4 card in San Jose, California, proving why he’s considered one of the most well-rounded 155 pound fighters on the planet.
Both men exchange low kicks. Dos Anjos lands a hard kick to the leg. Nice right hand from Njokuani, countered by a left from dos Anjos which drops him. Njokuani works his way back to his feet but the Brazilian stays on him and dumps him on his back once again. Njokuani back to his feet again and breaks the clinch. Njokuani attempts to establish the jab but dos Anjos lands another big leg kick. Another big leg kick from dos Anjos as he ups the pace. Dos Anjos looks for the takedown up against the cage but Njokuani defends well. Leg kick from Njokuani lands. The two men exchange till the bell. MMABay scores the round 10-9 dos Anjos.
Dos Anjos lands a big leg kick. Njokuani is looking to throw more teep kicks in this round and fight the fight at his range. Dos Anjos lands a nice right hand but Njokuani comes back with a hard combination. Dos Anjos shoots in looking for the takedown and he gets it up against the fence. Njokuani works his way back up but the Brazilian stays glued to him. Big takedown by dos Anjos and he quickly passes the guard. Dos Anjos looks to take the back but Njokuani uses the opportunity to get back to his feet. Dos Anjos stays glued to him and presses the action up against the fence. Dos Anjoas eventually gets the fight to the ground again. Dos Anjos locks up a guillotine from half-guard but he can’t finish the fight. Njokuani back up before the bell sounds. Njokuani opens up with a leg kick. The two men exchange before Njokuani lands the right hand. Teep kick by Njokuani lands. Dos Anjos answers with a leg kick. The two men exchange big shots. Nice left hand from dos Anjos but Njokuani comes back with a combination. Jab lands from Njokuani. Njokuani tries the knee but dos Anjos uses it to clinch and look for the takedown. Njokuani gets free but dos Anjos stays on him and eventually earns the takedown. Big elbow from the guard by dos Anjos. Dos Anjos postures up and throws down but Njokuani recovers his feet. Dos Anjos stays on him up against the fence to end the round and fight. MMABay scores the round 10-9 dos Anjos.
The judges scored the fight 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 in favour of dos Anjos.
