UFC on FUEL TV 4 – Chris Weidman looks ultra-impressive as he dominates Mark Munoz to earn a second round TKO win
The UFC middleweight division has a new major threat when it comes to the title after Chris Weidman stepped out of the shadows to defeat Mark Munoz on the UFC on FUEL TV 4 card in San Jose, California, via TKO in the second round.
Head kick from Weidman misses but he shoots straight in and takes the fight to the ground. Weidman is in side control but Munoz rolls to his knees and looks to stand. Munoz gets to his feet but Weidman lands a big knee from the front head-lock position. Munoz drops back down and Weidman locks up a guillotine. Weidman lets go and lands a series of elbows. Weidman moves for a kimura but Munoz defends well. Munoz gets to his knees but is getting dominated right now, it’s been all Weidman in this round. Weidman mounts and looks for the guillotine again but Munoz pushes him off to side control. Weidman attacks again with the guillotine but Munoz escapes out the back door. It looks like Munoz is going to get up and Weidman cuts him off. Munoz regains his feet but Weidman pins him on the cage. Dominant round for Weidman. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Weidman.
Munoz pushes forward but Weidman ducks under and takes Munoz to the ground. Weidman looks for a submission but Munoz manages to escape back to his feet. Short right hand lands from Weidman. Weidman lands an elbow on the inside which rocks Munoz. Weidman flurries and eventually the referee steps in to finish it.
