UFC 151 – Jon Jones more concerned with Dan Henderson’s H-bomb than his high calibre wrestling
UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones has been giving his thoughts on his UFC 151 clash with Dan Henderson set for September 1st in Las Vegas, Nevada, explaining he’s more concerned with the veterans powerful right hand than his high calibre wrestling.
Speaking via MMAMania.com, Jones said:
“I think more his striking than his wrestling. With each bout, he has been using his striking more. He throws those “H-Bombs” and they are like heat-seeking missiles. Dan is a great wrestler, as well, and has been wrestling along time. I wrestled last about 5 years ago in college and I don’t enjoy wrestling as much as I used to. Dan is older and has been doing it more, but it seems like as he has gotten older, he has focused more on his striking. So, I think his striking is more of a concern than his wrestling.”
Jones has practically cleared out the 205 pound ranks over the past year with wins over Ryan Bader, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Lyoto Machida and now Rashad Evans. All that’s left in his way are bouts with Dan Henderson and possibly Alexander Gustafsson. Stay tuned to MMABay for more build-up to this one as we get it.
