Rashad Evans begs his bosses at the UFC to give him Anderson Silva next
Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Rashad Evans has practically begged his bosses at Zuffa headquarters to give him the next shot at middleweight champion and “pound for pound” king, Anderson Silva following the Brazilian’s latest title defence, a move that would be very interesting indeed.
Posting via his Twitter page, Rashad said:
“@lorenzofertitta i want 2 pick a fight with the middle weight champion! Lol Make it happen!! Please!!”
Later in the weekend Fertitta offered it up to the UFC fans as far as the next opponent of “The Spider” when he asked:
“Let’s hear from the masses. Who should silva fight next? #bones, #Gsp, #rashad, winner of Munoz/Weidman on Wednesday? Bisping too.”
Evans isn’t exactly the biggest light heavyweight to ever grace the octagon and with a strong wrestling base and knockout power it’s hard to argue against those who feel he’d give “The Spider” a major run for his money if the two men were to ever meet. Stay tuned to MMABay for more news on this situation as we get it.
