Scott Coker says Ronda Rousey will have her hands full when she faces Sarah Kaufman on August 18th
Strikeforce CEO, Scott Coker has been giving his thoughts on the women’s bantamweight title bout between Ronda Rousey and Sarah Kaufman, explaining despite all the hype behind the talented judo champion she’ll have her hands full on the night.
Speaking during tonight’s media conference call, Coker said:
“Don’t let the looks fool you, because this girl is a dangerous fighter. She’s not just beautiful, but she’s actually funny, witty, sharp and always has a good comeback. Ronda is definitely a superstar in this sport. I know Sarah has some bad feelings because she felt she should have gotten the fight with Miesha instead of Ronda. But it all worked out. Sarah will have her opportunity to show why she feels the way she feels.”
“Ronda is going to have her hands full. Sarah is an amazing striker, has the ability to keep the fight standing up (and has) great takedown defense.”
Rousey is undefeated at 5-0 in her mixed martial arts career and captured the title in March when he almost ripped the arm off then champion, Miesha Tate. The ultra-talented judoka has won her first five fights in a combined time of 7:15.
Kaufman became the number one contender on the same card with a win over the gutsy Alexis Davis. She is currently 15-1 overall and is on a three-fight winning streak since losing her title to Marloes Coenen back in October 2010. Stay tuned to MMABay for more build-up to this one as we get it.
