Dana White expects UFC 148 to do over one million Pay-Per-View buys
UFC President, Dana White has been giving his thoughts on the upcoming UFC 148 mega card headlined by the middleweight title showdown between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen, explaining he fully expects the show to do over one million Pay-Per-View buys.
Speaking during Monday’s media conference call, Dana said:
“This isn’t one of the biggest sporting events of the summer; it’s one of the biggest sporting events of the year. There’s no doubt that we plan on doing over a million (PPV) buys here. We expect UFC 100 numbers.”
There’s no doubt in my mind that this is the biggest rematch seen since UFC 66 when Chuck Liddell battled Tito Ortiz for a second time inside the octagon and therefore this event will be huge in terms of viewing figures. With the rest of the card measuring up as well despite a number of high profile injuries, we could be in for something very special in just less than two weeks folks…
