UFC 147: Silva vs. Franklin II results, updates and live play-by-play TONIGHT on MMABay!!!
MMABay will be coming to you LIVE from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, tonight, the scene of UFC 147, in order to bring you all the action from the Estádio Jornalista Felipe Drumond where UFC middleweight veterans, Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin square off in the main event of the evening.

UFC 147 play-by-play live main card commentary:
Wanderlei Silva vs. Rich Franklin (190-pound catchweight limit)
Round one: Cautious start from both men. Big right hand from Silva lands. Nice left hand from Franklin as he starts to find his range. Franklin goes to the inside leg before landing a right hand upstairs. Silva looks for the high kick but Franklin catches it. Franklin lands a left hand which drops Silva to a knee for a second. Franklin is landing again and again early on in this fight. Left kick to the body from Franklin lands. Big head kick from Silva lands, answered by a stiff jab from Franklin. Another head kick thrown from Silva. Franklin with a head kick this time as he walks Silva down. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Franklin.
Round two: Cautious start again as Franklin walks Silva down. Silva with a counter head kick. Silva kicks the knee of Franklin and appears to have hurt himself. Body kick from Silva lands. Franklin with a big right hand stumbles Silva a little before following up with a body shot. Franklin goes again to the body as he starts to string together his combinations. Silva with a right hand over the top. Silva catches Franklin with another right hand but he seems to take it well. Nice combination from Silva as he pushes forward. Big knee from Silva as he starts to turn things up. Silva drops Franklin with a big combination and looks to pour it on. Silva can’t finish as Franklin looks for a takedown. Silva shakes him off and pounds away to the final bell. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Silva.
Round three: Head kick from Franklin is blocked. Franklin goes to the body with a left hook. Franklin is doing a good job of keeping Silva at bay and landing from a distance. Head kick from Franklin lands but Silva takes it well. Silva has slowed and isn’t looking as aggressive in this third round. Nice combination from Silva but he doesn’t follow up. Franklin with a takedown and moves to half-guard. Elbows land from Franklin as he pins an arm. Franklin mounts for a second before posturing up and throwing down. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Franklin.
Round four: Franklin with a left hook to begin the fourth. Nice right hand by Silva as Franklin moves in. Franklin goes to the body before repeatedly pumping his jab. Nice right hook from Franklin lands. Body shot again lands from Franklin. Silva appears to have burned himself out in the second round. Low blow lands from Silva. We’re back after a minute or so. Nice uppercut from Franklin in close. Silva with a left hook as he looks to get his offense going again. Silva misses with a wild flurry to end the round. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Franklin.
Round five: Big hug to begin the final round. Franklin jabs his way in but Silva counters with a head kick. Nice lfet hand from Franklin. Silva catches Franklin with a left hook. Franklin is utilising great footwork in this fight as he continues to pepper Silva from the outside. Silva pushes forward. Silva gestures to the crowd before leaping in with a minute to go. Franklin attempts to move away but Silva is walking him down. Silva’s punches are coming slower but the two engage in a wild brawl in the final seconds. Franklin drops Silva with the final punch of the fight. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Franklin.
Final result: Rich Franklin, unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46).
Cezar Ferrieira vs. Sergio Moraes (145-pound division limit)
Round one: Cautious start from both men before Moraes leaps in with a wild hook. Spinning kick to the head by Ferrieira is blocked. Inside leg kick from Moraes lands. Hard body kick from Moraes. Ferrieira is stalking and looking to set up his strikes with his footwork. Ferrieira with a nice straight left but Moraes answers with a punch of his own. Low blow lands from Ferrieira. The fight resumes. Ferrieira moves in and throws the body kick. Head kick from Ferrieira before eating a wild combination from Moraes in the clinch. Ferrieira with another high kick. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Ferrieira.
Round two: Ferrieira with a straight left before landing an uppercut from the clinch. Moraes looks to pull guard but Ferrieira walks away. Ferrieira tags Moraes but it appears it was just a slip. Big spinning kick to the head by Ferrieira lands and Moraes drops. Ferrieira can’t finish him with strikes so the fight on the feet resumes. Ferrieira is keeping the pressure on and using his footwork to defeat Moraes. Nice combination from Ferrieira lands. Wild attack from Moraes sees Ferrieira circle away. Moraes catches Ferrieira with big shots all of a sudden and it looks like the hometown kid is in trouble. Ferrieira resists the urge to go for a takedown and recovers his wits. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Ferrieira.
Round three: Ferrieira with a nice combination before an uppercut knocks Moraes to the canvas. Ferrieira decides against following his opponent to the ground and backs away. Ferrieira with a nice right hand. Moraes misses with wild lefts and rights. Moraes tags Ferrieira and clearly hurts him, changing the tide in this final round. Another right hand from Moraes lands. Just as we say that Ferrieira lands a straight left which dumps Moraes to the ground. Ferrieira kicks away at the legs. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Ferrieira.
Final result: Cezar Ferrieira, unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27).
Godofredo Pepey vs. Rony Mariano Bezerra (185-pound division limit)
Round one: Pepey leaps in with a flying knee but Bezerra catches him with a right hand coming in. Both guys are swinging for the fences. Pepey gets wild again with the hands before tying up Bezerra and pulling guard. Pepey looks for a kimura but Bezerra defends well. Bezerra pounds away to the body before Pepey looks to land strikes from the bottom. The referee stands them up unnecessarily. Nice leg kick from Bezerra lands. Flying knee from Bezerra as Pepey looks to close the distance. Pepey looks to pull guard again but Bezerra slams him to the canvas. Te two men exchange punches and elbows to end the round. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Bezerra.
Round two: Bezerra catches a kick before looking to wade forward. The two men tie up and Pepey pulls guard again, something the crowd do not appreciate. Elbows from Bezerra land before he passes to side control. Bezerra immediately stands and the two men regain their feet. Bezerra with a big right hand. Bezerra with the lead left-hook this time. Overhand right from Bezerra lands. Bezerra misses with the wheel kick to end the round. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Bezerra.
Round three: Pepey with the head kick but it’s blocked. Both men are loosening up. Big right hand from Bezerra forces Pepey to look for a takedown up against the cage. Bezerra with a body kick once he’s free of his opponent. Both men connect with big bombs, with Bezerra getting the better of the exchange. Bezerra takes a low blow. The action resumes and Bezerra is pushing forward. Pepey catches a knee and looks to take the fight to the ground. He pulls guard but Bezerra steps away. Both men kick away at the legs before the referee stands Pepey up. Bezerra wades in but gets caught with another low blow. The action resumes. Inside leg kicks from Pepey before securing a late takedown. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Bezerra.
Final result: Rony Mariano Bezerra, unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
Fabricio Werdum vs. Mike Russow (265-pound division limit)
Round one: Werdum comes out looking sharp in the feet, landing lefts and rights. Russow looks a little hurt and decides to clinch and push the Brazilian up against the fence. Werdum gets free and looks to continue the striking battle. Nice right hand by Werdum. Big right hand from Werdum drops Russow. The Brazilian pounds away at Russow who turtles up until the referee steps in.
Final result: Fabricio Werdum, (T)KO, 1st round.
Yuri Alcantara vs. Hacran Dias (145-pound division limit)
Round one: Alcantara with a nice knee to the body. Dias locks up the clinch and looks for the takedown up against the cage. Dias scoops Alcantara’s hips away from the cage and secures the takedown. Dias mounts and begins to look for an arm-triangle choke but the cage is in the way. Alcantara escapes the position and gets back to his feet but is soon slammed back to the mat. Dias looks to pass the guard of his opponent and takes the back of Alcantara as he looks to stand up against the cage. Big knees to the thighs by Dias but in doing so gives up his back to Alcantara. Dias secures a kimura in a standing position before breaking free. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Dias.
Round two: Dias lands a nice inside leg kick. Alcantara closes the distance using strikes and looks to clinch but it’s Dias who forces the fight back to the ground. Alcantara spins for an arm-bar off his back but Dias postures well and manages to pull out of it. That was close. Alcantara works his way back to his feet up against the fence but Dias drags him back to the ground. Dias moves to half-guard before dropping a series of elbows. The referee stands them back up despite Dias working from the top. Nice left-right from Alcantara. Big left from Alcantara ends the round. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Dias.
Round three: Tentative start by both men in the third round as the pace of the first ten minutes takes it’s toll. Nice body kick from Alcantara, answered by Dias. Alcantara catches the leg of Dias but is too off balance to capitalise. Dias shoots in against the fence and looks for the takedown. He gets it. Dias wades away to the face of Alcantara with short, sharp shots. Alcantara slips out and gets back to his feet but Dias stays on him and looks for another takedown. He gets it. The pace slows a little and the referee stands them up. Alcantara pushes forward, throwing the knee, but gets taken down. In the scramble Alcantara gains top position and looks to posture up and throw down. Alcantara mounts in the final second but that’s it. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Dias.
Final result: Hacran Dias, unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27).
