UFC 149 – Tim Boetsch plans on beating Hector Lombard and taking his potential title shot
UFC middleweight powerhouse, Tim Boetsch has been giving his thoughts on his upcoming UFC 149 clash with Hector Lombard just next month in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, explaining he not only plans on beating the knockout artist, but he plans on taking the potential title shot he has as well.
Speaking via FC Fighter, Boetsch said:
“My opponent’s popularity doesn’t concern me at all. I think an interesting fact is how highly regarded Hector is by the UFC. Dana White had said himself that Hector would get a title shot if he had gone in and defeated Stann handily. I hope he gives me the same shot when I take Hector out. I felt like that after beating Bisping I would have to win one more fight after that to earn the right to be called the number one contender, but I think if I take Hector out in an impressive fashion that’s going to jump me to the front of the line.”
Boetsch was last seen in action at UFC 144 in Japan where he took on Yushin Okami. After losing the first two rounds “The Barbarian” ploughed his way through his opponent in the final frame, winning via TKO. He is now 3-0 as a middleweight since dropping from 205 pounds.
