Jon Jones’ sentencing for DUI postponed until July 3rd
It has today been revealed that the sentencing of UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones for his recent driving under the influence (DUI) has been postponed until July 3rd, two weeks following the original date.
MMAJunkie.com today confirmed with a Binghamton (N.Y.) City Court representative that the proceeding is now set for the morning of July 3rd. Jones pleaded guilty to DWI on May 29th. He is expected to be sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge and fined $1,500 as part of a plea deal with the Broome County (N.Y.) District Attorney’s Office.
Jones was arrested in the early hours of May 19th after crashing his Bentley into a pole near his hometown of Ithica. Two female passengers of Jones suffered minor injuries and were treated and released from a nearby hospital. Stay tuned to MMABay for more news on this situation as we get it.
