UFC 150 – Luiz Cane the latest fighter to get injured, Rousimar Palhares steps in against Yushin Okami on August 11th
The UFC’s injury bug has hit yet again this month after it was today revealed middleweight prospect, Luiz Cane has been forced to pull out of his UFC 150 clash with Yushin Okami on August 11th in Denver, Colorado, and has been replaced by Brazilian submission artist, Rousimar Palhares.
The news was revealed by UFC officials earlier today. It is thought verbal agreements are in place at this time on both sides.
Palhares was thought to be nearing the verge of securing a title shot when he ran into dangerous all-rounder, Alan Belcher on the UFC on FOX 3 card in May. After securing an early takedown it was the Brazilian that became overwhelmed, eventually losing via TKO in the first round.
Okami is down on his luck right now after dropping back-to-back fights inside the octagon to current champion, Anderson Silva and tough as nails “Barbarian”, Tim Boetsch. His last win came way back at UFC 122 when he defeated Nate Marquardt via unanimous decision.
