Bibiano Fernandes weighing up contract offers from the UFC and ONE FC
It has today been revealed that DREAM bantamweight champion, Bibiano Fernandes shelved the possibility of signing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship after receiving a bigger financial offer from upstart promotion, ONE FC.
According to MMAFighting.com, sources close to the DREAM bantamweight champion, Fernandes had verbally agreed to sign with the UFC last week. That’s when the organization announced that he would meet Roland Delorme at UFC 149 on July 21.
However, moments later, he was offered a more lucrative deal from ONE FC. Fernandes was then forced to make a difficult decision: sign with the more established UFC for less money or take a chance on ONE FC, who was offering a bigger contract.
Fernandes has spent most of his career at featherweight, where he captured DREAM gold, before dropping down and doing the same at bantamweight. He holds notable wins over Joachim Hansen, Joe Warren and Antonio Banuelos. Stay tuned to MMABay for more on this situation as we get it.
