Dana White confirms Tito Ortiz will be inducted into the “Hall of Fame” prior to UFC 148
UFC President, Dana White has tonight confirmed former light heavyweight champion and bitter rival, Tito Ortiz will be inducted into the companies “Hall of Fame” prior to his UFC 148 showdown with Forrest Griffin on July 7th in Las Vegas, Nevada, seemingly the last fight of his professional career.
Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Ortiz said:
“He pound for pound was doing some of the most damage at a time when we were hurting…but it’s part of our history the way the storylines played out between me, Chuck and Tito. He’s definitely a part of the history of the sport.”
Ortiz recently admitted that he feared Dana would never forgive him for some of the things he said during their heated war of words, confrontations that spilled over at the weigh-ins and post-fight interviews inside the octagon. Although this isn’t confirmation that things have been forgiven it’s good to see Dana can put aside his personal feelings and do what’s right for a legend of the sport.
