Brian Stann calls for a fight with either Michael Bisping or Vitor Belfort when he returns from injury
UFC middleweight heavy hitter, Brian Stann has tonight revealed he’s like to face stiff competition in the form of either Michael Bisping or Vitor Belfort when he returns to action inside the octagon after picking up a shoulder injury in training this past week.
Speaking during the FUEL TV broadcast, Stann said:
“No surgery, luckily. Hopefully I can get this healed up as soon as possible and get my range of motion back. But for now, I can’t even pick my arm up. It just happened, and my shoulder didn’t really stand a chance. You could hear the crack right away. It’s one of those feelings when you know you’re hurt, and you know the difference when you’re injured. Unfortunately, I was injured.”
“I want to fight anyone who’s ranked ahead of me. We want that belt. We all want to be champions. I’m fighting to be a champion, and in order to do that, you have to beat the guys ranked ahead of you to get closer to that title shot. I’d welcome a fight with either one of those guys.”
When pressed for names of possible opponents for down the road Stann mentioned Michael Bisping and Vitor Belfort. Stann rebounded from a loss to Chael SOnnen late last year when he returned to the octagon just a few weeks ago to stop Italian heavy hitter, Alessio Sakara in the very first round in Stockholm, Sweden. Stay tuned to MMABay for more on this as we get it.
