Ronda Rousey vs. Sarah Kaufman revealed for August 18th Strikeforce event in San Diego, California
The Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title will be on the line over the summer months after it was revealed current champion and judo sensation, Ronda Rousey will square off with former title holder, Sarah Kaufman on a Strikeforce event penned for August 18th in San Diego, California.
Sources close to the situation have revealed to MMAFighting.com that the fight will go down on the above date and that verbal agreements are in place on both sides.
Rousey is undefeated at 5-0 in her mixed martial arts career and captured the title in March when he almost ripped the arm off then champion, Miesha Tate. The ultra-talented judoka has won her first five fights in a combined time of 7:15.
Kaufman became the number one contender on the same card with a win over the gutsy Alexis Davis. She is currently 15-1 overall and is on a three-fight winning streak since losing her title to Marloes Coenen back in October 2010. Stay tuned to MMABay for more build-up to this one as we get it.
