UFC on FUEL TV 4 – Jon Fitch forced to pull out of his July 11th showdown with Aaron Simpson
Former UFC welterweight title contender, Jon Fitch has been forced to pull out of his proposed UFC on FUEL TV 4 showdown with Aaron Simpson on July 11th at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
On Saturday, WrestlingObserver.com reported that a knee injury forced Fitch to withdraw from his fight against Simpson. MMAFighting.com later confirmed the story with Fitch’s trainer “Crazy” Bob Cook.
Fitch was looking to get his octagon career back on track after suffering only the second defeat of his UFC career, a stunning first minute knockout at the hand of Johny Hendricks. Prior to that he’d gone 5-0-1 in his previous six bouts.
Simpson will be looking to make 170 pounds his new home when he finds a replacement opponent after seeing his three fight winning streak come to an end when he took on the massive former light heavyweight, Ronny Markes on the UFC on FUEL TV 1 show in early February. He lost via unanimous decision.
