TUF Live Finale – Martin Kampmann survives a tough first round to stop Jake Ellenberger via TKO
UFC welterweight veteran, Martin Kampmann did it again tonight on “The Ultimate Fighter Live” finale in Las Vegas, Nevada, surviving an early onslaught by Jake Ellenberger in the first round only to rally in the second and walk away with a TKO victory for his efforts.
Slow start from both men before Ellenberger wades in. Ellenberger connects with a big left hook and he drops Kampmann. “The Juggernaut” looks to finish but Kampmann covers up and gets his senses back. Ellenberger is in the guard of Kampmann looking to pull the Dane’s hips away from the fence. Ellenberger is doing just enough so far to avoid the stand-up as he has Kampmann pinned up against the fence. Kampmann starts to look for the guillotine off his back as Ellenberger ties up his legs. Kampmann gets back to his feet and the two men exchange knees from the clinch. Kampmann looks for a takedown up against the fence. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Ellenberger.
Low kick from Ellenberger. Kampmann counters nicely with the hands and the two exchange. Big bombs fired from Ellenberger again as the Dane is busted up and wobbly. Kampmann counters again nicely as Ellenberger gets wild. Ellenberger looks a little wobbly himself after eating a shot. The two men clinch and Kampmann delivers a couple of big knees that drop Ellenberger. A few hammer-fists and the referee stops it.
