Gilbert Melendez wants Eddie Alvarez next but he’s not holding his breath

June 1, 2012 All MMA News, UFC  Comments

Strikeforce lightweight champion, Gilbert Melendez has been giving his thoughts on who he’d like to face next inside the cage as his potential list of challengers gets smaller by the day, explaining a showdown with former Bellator champion, Eddie Alvarez would definitely hit the spot and help to reignite his motivation.

Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Melendez said:

“Eddie is someone that I have respected for a long time and I would definitely welcome that. But you know, as much as I try to get excited for these and try to make these things happen, right now, I am trying not to get involved in that. I really don’t have that much say. I just let the promoters do it and hey, the power of the media, maybe you guys can help me out with that and the fans can make demands. But someone like Eddie would definitely interest me and definitely would motivate me. It’s nothing I am going to try to push for or waste my time over, but anything would be cool.”

Melendez is one of a number of fighters Showtime insisted on staying with Strikeforce when Zuffa bought them out in order to keep the interest levels relatively high as the brand continues to do business. The big question is with challengers at 155 pound drying up faster than the Las Vegas desert how long will “El Nino” remain happy with this little arrangement? Tell us what you think…

Buying Supplements for MMA Training and Hardcore Workouts
Many people ask what type of supplements they should use for MMA training and hardcore workouts. With each person and training program the supplements will vary.  Anyone exerting enormous amounts of energy with their training needs to have a proper diet, lots of rest and quality supplementation. Some of the supplement staples for MMA and hardcore workouts will include Creatine, Whey Protein, BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids), L Carnitine, Beta Alanine and Glutamine.  You may also need extra pre-workout energy and strength with Ephedrine/Ephedra and Prohormones.  As well you will need to replenish nutrients with Multivitamins, Super Greens, Fish Oil and Joint Support Supplements. Make sure to research what the requirements are for your specific training program, and do as much research as possible on each supplement you are taking. Buy supplements at a trusted source - one company we recommend for quality products and service is CenturySupplements.com.  They have quick delivery to the UK and a wide selection.
