Glover Teixeira eyes future fights with Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson
UFC light heavyweight prospect, Glover Teixeira has been speaking about his impressive debut inside the octagon this past weekend which saw him dismantle Kyle Kingsbury in the very first round on-route to a submission win via arm-triangle choke, as well as singling out a couple of big names as future opponents for himself.
Speaking via MMAJunkie.com, Teixeira said:
“But I felt very calm and I did everything I trained for. I was relaxed.”
Teixeira would lose the chance to win a “Submission of the Night” bonus when Paul Sass and Stefan Struve impressed later in the card, but he’s not too broken up about it. The pay in the UFC is a mite better than the shows he fought in his native Brazil.
“Next time I’ll try harder, and maybe I’ll do a better submission. Nothing to complain about. Maybe next time, huh?”
When asked who he would like to face down the line the dream pair of Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson immediately sprung to mind, although he was quick to add he’d be happy to face whoever Joe Silva deems necessary to further his career inside the octagon. Stay tuned to MMABay for news on who he’ll face next as we get it.
