Dana White thinks Georges St. Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks is “pretty interesting”, Josh Koscheck thinks he won
UFC President, Dana White has been giving his thoughts on a potential welterweight title fight between current champion, Georges St. Pierre and the surprise package of the 170 pound ranks over the past couple of years, Johny Hendricks, calling the bout “pretty interesting”.
Speaking at the post-fight press conference, Dana said:
“Josh Koscheck, because he gets booed, may not get the respect that he deserves, but he’s a great fighter and has been for a long time and Johny Hendricks won tonight. Whether you agree with the decision or not, cause some people think that Koscheck won or it should’ve been a draw, it was that close. I think a fight with Hendricks vs. GSP is pretty interesting.”
Josh Koscheck was also in attendance and felt he did enough to get the nod on the night.
“I’m not one to ever (expletive) about decisions. I thought I won the first and the third, but apparently the judges saw different. It was a good fight. I felt like I ended the fight on top. It is what it is. I live to fight another day. He’s a good fighter. He won tonight. I’m not going to sit here and (expletive) and cry about a decision. I should’ve finished the fight. When it goes to the judges, I guess you have to have luck on your side, and I guess he had luck on his side. He won the fight.”
Hendricks has arguable beaten the number two and three ranked fighters in the division over the past couple of years in Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch and on that alone deserves a crack at the welterweight title. How will he fair against either Georges St. Pierre or Carlos Condit and does he have the skill set to become champion of the UFC someday? Tell us what you think…
