Dana White reveals he’s growing tired of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s negative comments
UFC President, Dana White has tonight blasted former light heavyweight champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson after the fighter made a number of disparaging remarks towards the Las Vegas based promotion following his last fight, explaining if “Rampage” doesn’t want to fight for them anymore then the feeling is mutual.
Speaking at today’s press conference in New Jersey, Dana said:
“Rampage is obviously not happy with the UFC. No big deal brother, you don’t want to be here anymore. The way I always look at it is, we have this mutual relationship with the fighters. Do we always see eye to eye? Do we always get along? Whatever the deal might be. As far as money goes, everybody needs to make more money … That’s human nature. What we do is we go in and we negotiate deals that work for everybody. We’ve been good to everybody that we’ve ever dealt with. We’ve never screwed anybody over, including Rampage. And you want to talk about a guy that we went to bat for? We’ve gone to bat for him many times. I feel like f—– [Derek] Jeter when it comes to Rampage, OK? If he’s unhappy with us, doesn’t like us, and doesn’t want to be with us anymore, then the feeling is mutual.”
“Rampage” had been asking for a fight against former PRIDE rival, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua to see out his octagon career but a double knee surgery means the UFC may look to keep the Brazilian busy with other options. Jackson has reportedly turned down several other opponents of late including Phil Davis but may be rail-roaded into a fight with the Swede, Alexander Gustafsson. Stay tuned to MMABay for more on this as we get it.
