Nate Diaz reveals his brother isn’t interested in fighting right now
“Ultimate Fighter” season five winner, Nate Diaz has revealed that his brother Nick isn’t interested in fighting right now despite a number of people close to the Stockton native indicating that a return to the octagon is only a matter of time, as well as discussing his own title aspirations at 155 pounds ahead of his debut on FOX.
Speaking during Thursday’s press conference call, Nate said:
“He’s busy right now. He’s got triathlon season. I don’t think he’s really that interested in fighting. So as of right now, no.”
Nate also spoke about where he stands in the title picture heading into his UFC on FOX 3 clash with Jim Miller early next month.
“That’s what I was told was happening, I don’t see who else would get a title shot.”
Nick has been put on temporary suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission but the whole situation was expected to be cleared up as early as this month, although neither side has sifted. The thing is though the man from Stockton recently announced his retirement from the game, although we expect he was only pulling our chain, so this move may be more about clearing his name than anything else. Stay tuned to MMABay for more news on this situation as we get it.
