Mirko Cro Cop defeats Ray Sefo at “Final Fight” in Zagreb, Croatia via decision
Former UFC and PRIDE heavyweight knockout artist, Mirko Cro Cop tonight returned to his kickboxing roots at the Arena Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia, defeating fellow legend, Ray Sefo via unanimous decision in what turned into a sloppy and uneventful affair.
The first round was a sloppy one but that’s hardly a surprise given both men are in the twilight years of their careers. Cro Cop seemed to be doing well, snapping back the head of Sefo but it was Sefo who was landing the harder shots. Cro Cop began to take over in the second round, working on the inside and landing a series of nice uppercuts and shots to the body. The third round turned into a clinch-fest with continual breaks from the referee. Cro Cop probably did enough to edge the round and took a rather unspectacular decision.
The event was dubbed “Final Fight” in mark of Cro Cop’s last professional combat sports fight, whether it be MMA or kickboxing. Since the fight was put together the legend has revealed he plans to keep on fighting and is looking to compete in the kickboxing world over the next year and maybe beyond.
