UFC on FX 3 – Brandon Vera gets his wish of a rematch with Thiago Silva on May 15th in Virginia
A light heavyweight rematch between Brandon Vera and Thiago Silva has been signed for the UFC on FX 3 card on May 15th in Virginia, a fight that will hopefully be without the presence of performance enhancing drugs.
The promotion announced the fight on Wednesday night, meaning both men have likely verbally agreed at this point to meet. The fight will be Silva’s first since he was suspended for one year after defeating Vera back at UFC 125 in January 2010.
Vera has looked terrible of late, winning just one of his last four fights inside the octagon and even in victory he made a meal of it, struggling to a unanimous decision win over Eliot Marshall after getting knocked down twice and his arm badly damaged with a near submission.
